A Song of Good (2008)
Director: Gregory King
Writer: Gregory King
Cast: Gareth Reeves, Danielle Cormack, Matthew Sunderland
MPAA Rating: Not Rated
Synopsis: Overcome with guilt and remorse, a recovering drug addict seeks redemption for his past indiscretions.
Thoughts: Crackling with subtle intensity, writer/director Gregory King's 2008 character piece A Song of Good is, simply put, the Forrest Gump of drug addiction cinema. And while King's script is both witty and whip-smart, it's Gareth Reeves unrelenting turn as hapless loser Gary Cradle that steals the show. Devastating, haunting, and undeniably powerful. I'd watch it again in a heartbeat.
Recipe For Success: Gregory King's Script + Gareth Reeves' Performance + The Last Scene Will Haunt You For Weeks
