Even gay guys get the blues.

T.S. Slaughter's grossly misanthropic 2007 exploitation flick Skull & Bones is exactly the kind of degenerate slab of celluloid that works extremely well with a group of like-minded individuals who don't mind a little mean-spirited humor at the end of the work week. Granted, a sex-filled story about two here-and-queer state college students exacting misplaced lower middle-class revenge on a gaggle of empty-headed Ivy Leaguers isn't for everyone, but those born with the uncanny ability to appreciate all forms of off-beat cinema will surely appreciate Slaughter's biting sense of humor, his willingness to craft unadulterated, over-the-top scenes of uncomfortable humiliation. With one or two exceptions, all of the performances are strong, especially from lead perpetrators Derrick Wolf and Michael Burke. This is disaffected debauchery at its finest, dear readers, and as long as you can handle a few constrained moments of delirious cruelty towards various straight-laced anuses, Skull & Bones should provide plenty of entertainment for your oh-so cynical dollar. Either way, it's sure to make your chest-thumping, college football-loving hetero buddies squirm. That alone is worth the price of admission.

This is the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. Whoever wrote this review must have been paid by the director. It was so bad it was embarassing. I went to a screening because Verow Superstar Michael Burke was in it. I can't imagine how much they had to pay a brilliant actor like Michael who has worked with iconic directors like Todd Verow, The Kuchar Brothers and Maria Maggenti to be in this piece of crap. I was so happy that Michael did not even attend the screening. He is above this crap!

I love the assumption that anyone who has a differing, unpopular opinion about music, television, or film must have been paid to express it. However, I'll support whatever helps you sleep better at night; you sound like you could use a nap.

Skull & Bones is a great little post-Troma exploitation flick that borrows heavily from the stylized weirdness of John Waters and his contemporaries. That said, I don't expect everyone to appreciate it as much as I did, especially those who seem to have some sort of hidden agenda when posting comments on an obscure blog site.

Regardless, thanks for stopping by. I suppose.

I agree with you film fiend. I saw this film and enjoyed it- I actually saw it because of an email sent from the actor Michael Burke himself. I think that other guy who posted is in need of a nap and has intentions. I highly doubt that an actor would promote a film and praise the exerience of working on it if he did not want people to see it. While many of us homos who get off on sick gay indie cult films adore Michael since he is so invested in this genre of subversive fag films and appears all over the place in many films. I think that dude was just mad that the boys here didn't get fully naked like they do in Todd's films. Hah.
