Never stop to piss during a chase sequence.

You can suck and/or lick my rusty Hatchet, horror fans: Jeremy Saulnier's off-beat genre-bending comedy Murder Party is by far one of the best independently produced genre films of the year, nay, the entire bloody decade. Quirky, kooky, and suitably dry, this amusing tale of grisly murder for the sake of pretentious art barrels along at an enjoyably snappy pace, resting only briefly in-between frequent bouts of hilariously deadpan dialogue and a few interesting moments of unexpected graphic violence. Saulnier's intelligent script seems to gyrate wildly to its own twisted, drug-addled rhythm, giving prospective viewers plenty of low-budget bang for their proverbial buck. This is the sort of outrageously tasty horror picture I live for, dear readers; nothing makes me happier than consuming a cinematic hybrid that actually understands how to make both genres pop on-screen. In fact, Murder Party has already infiltrated my list of all-time favorite horror pictures, which is not an easy feat to accomplish. If you consider yourself a fan of such sketch comedy legends as Mr. Show, The State, and Kids in the Hall, you should feel right at home investigating this entertaining slice of deep fried indie gold. RSVP immediately, sucka.
